I think about you constantly, whether it's with my mind or my heart. ~ Albany Bach Reid

You and I. Both.

Dear Diary,

A few days ago, we went to the beach, which was one of our countless treasured moments. Simply wonderful. Undescribable. Okay, I'll stop there.

Then, there was a time when a couple, walking towards our direction, was looking comfortably attached to one another. They look roughly in their late 40s, who were really in the mood of relaxation happily strolling along the Cherating shore and the funny thing was, my other half started to make suppositions about the couple. Let me try to recall what he actually said; ‘Hmm..You knoe what. They are already married for thousand years and trying to rekindle the relationship or...or... they just got married’. And then came that wink. Lol.

Yup. Sometimes it’s a fun thing to do to just sit and watch people who are around us. I mean, every now and then we can tell or maybe guess about other people just by looking at their expressions and motions. For example, we can actually figure out that this one couple is in some way having an argument eventho they are not particularly arguing. Dig me?

Maybe just from they way they are not talking to each other, their frowns or twitching of the eyelids.. things like that. (am I talking from experience..where someone that barely knows us was actually concerned when we were not entirely in a good mood that day?)

Okay back to the couple, I mean the one we saw on the beach. They did seem very at ease with each other which is something I find abit rare in Malay culture. They were showing affection to each other, in a way that not mushy and yucky... but instead, sweetly. Older married couple that is still obviously in love. One thing that came into my mind at that precise moment was: 'I want that. '

You get what I mean? The affection. The love. No matter how old you are. Period.

After awhile, my eyes kinda glued to the man, who somehow looked abit familiar. 'I think I know this man', and then when the lady next to him turned around and sorta smiled at us, I let out a huge grin. She's that 'cakar harimau' practitioner aka ustazah Bahiyah with her husband, ustaz Wan Akasyah, if I'm not mistaken. I was like, stunned and some how impressed cos' they really practise what they say in their speeches. Which is super cool. Not like some experts who claimed they're the best in marriage counselling and all but yet, do they really mean it?

Like I said earlier, I want that. I want to be a half of a couple that stays together through thick and thin and through many trials, which lead to a great love and an abiding devotion one for the other.

Not impossible, right?

The power of ads

Have you watched that new Digi advertisement? The one where this guy calls a girl who is such in gloomy mood then he tries to cheer her up? Man, am tellin’ ya, even up to tonight, I’ve watched it for innumerable times already but still it manages to make me chuckle.

The way they jiggle their upper bodies at the start of the dance is simply entertaining. Accompanied by that catchy Tamil beat is a total genius. (at least for me...ha ha)

As I’m talking about advertisement, I remember the ones directed by the late Yasmin Ahmad. This one particular ad is one of not just me, but maybe thousands other Malaysians’ favourites; Raya ad of a single mother with 7 sons. Remember that one? And I remember it was a huge deal in my mother's side of the family cos' the location of the ad was close to our beloved 'kampung'.

An ad so simple yet touched the hearts of Malaysians. I guess that's one the rare beauties committed wonderfully by the late Yasmin. I don't know about others, but for me, this ad about the so-called troubles (I mean, just imagine the real troubles of a mother to raise 7 sons...phew..) the 6 sons had to go through to please their mother, is one that I would find it hard to forget. The message is super clear; "Syurga terletak di bawah tapak kaki ibu."

What's to come this raya? Another touchy, melancholic ad? We'll see.

National Geographic's for a short break

After having such a mundane time at the main base, not counting the precious time sharing such callous remarks with my dear colleagues about our 'other' colleague (we can't help it, we're just human beings after all...), my eyes feasted on an email sent by a dear friend featuring pictures from the file of National Geographic which are superb. I mentioned once right that when I was small, I used to have a dream to be a qualified photographer (majoring in trees... lol.. don't ask me why). Such a great talent for those who able to become one, right. Yes sayang, I know you've been eyeing some of the over delicate cameras (the ones that are ridiculously pricy), but really, are you sure you actually know how to use one? Ha ha.

Enjoy.

Hiatus. A bit too long this time.

Again it has been an indefinite hiatus for me there since early July. I can’t really tell actually what I have been up to but it seems that I have no time for myself lately. Which is okay cos’ I guess time flies faster that way. Right?

And now, wow. It’s already 20th of July. Today is the day where I have the whole day to myself which is nice, but the thing is, deep down I feel kinda despondent. There are so many things that I want to do, too many agendas but gees.. I feel trapped. Trapped in a way that no one could understand, wait..except for him but he’s such a rascal at this very minute cos’ he’s having fun leaving me all alone, day dreaming and snooping around doing nothing at all. Arrgh! Lol

It’s been awhile since the last time I went to watch a movie and right now, I can hardly recall what movie it was. You have no idea how much I want to simply grab a bag of popcorn and sluggishly rest, staring up to the screen. There are so many that I want to watch.. but.. naah.. forget it. I can't possibly squeeze all the movies in one day this weekend. Can I?

I'd kill him for tellin' me the real villain.

It would be great to watch this guy again. Plus it's based on a true story so, go figure.

I need a good laugh. And he ought to laugh too. If not... you know what I'd do to you!

Since the first time I saw the trailer, I've been meaning to watch this one. It looks really scary.

So there. I want to watch these four movies. Four different genres. Real cool, ey. Can't wait. But the thing is, I have no idea how in the world I can fit in all of them this weekend, (I mean really... I doubt there'd be any movie at all) I'd be darn lucky if I could watch one. *sighs

Notting Hill: For the..er.. tenth time?!

I have a few things to do but guess what, instead of gobbling down(memorising actually) the script for convo plus revising my upcoming lecture notes, my eyes are glued to the screen, watching one of my all time favourite movies; Notting Hill on TV2 via the U server.

I can't resist it. Or maybe it's Hugh Grant, I dunno. Lol.

Truth to be told, I really like this movie. It's funny (especially the time he went to meet up Julia for the 1st time and had to pretend to be Horse & Hound reporter), it's sweet, it's enchanting, it's romantic... everything. It is always 'surreal but nice' to watch it again.

And it can actually take my mind off of something or someone.. either one. At least for awhile.

Whoopsidaisies! (it's one of the things he loves to say in the movie) The ad's over. Hugh needs my attention. Gotta go.
